Simon Pearson worked for 20 years at Preston College in Preston, Lancaster, England. He made two Facebook posts addressing the Manchester Airport police assaults and the Southport Tragedy. On August 15, 2024 the Islamic representative of the National Education Union at Preston College submitted a complaint and threatened to go to the police if Pearson was not fired. Despite Pearson providing evidence of his support of Muslim students he was still dismissed for violating policies, damaging professional relationships, and risking the college's reputation. Pearson, with the aid of the Christian Legal Centre is now suing for wrongful dismissal, harassment, and discrimination under the Equality Act of 2010.

Canada has been seeking to limit free speech by calling it hate speech. A new bill was proposed to detail ways Parliament can "enact laws that limit Charter rights and freedoms," and even this bill seems to have questions on its own constitutionality. To find a way to see the bright side of things, the bill proposes redefining hatred as "[involving] the detestation or vilification." So instead of the current laws saying that "willfully promoting hatred," means willfully promoting "disdain or dislike." So perhaps that is a small improvement, but it hardly matters granted the context of the bill. It seems there is a reason Canadians have been stereotyped as being very polite, they are legally required to do so. If free speech is not free from governmental retaliation, it is not free.

The United States has historically retained separate prisons for males and females, men and women. However, in recent years the definition of women has become perverted. This leads to the ever increasing rate at which men are choosing to go to women's prisons. This has caused many safety concerns for biological women who are at a biological disadvantage to their male counterparts. Additionally, prisons are required to provide medical care for inmates. As transgender inmates become more common, these voluntary aesthetic treatments place a greater toll on the tax payer.
